Joomla in use : 4 years of experience with small and large projects

In this session we will present Joomla! (both the 1.0 and 1.5 branches), based on concrete learnings gained from small and large international projects. We’ll have a look at:

  • general presentation of joomla!, its history, the different branches and the community behind it
  • advantages, drawbacks its position on the CMS market
  • implementation strategy : templates, components, modules
  • overview on modifying an OSS such as Joomla! (and thus making branches) versus trying to keep in line with the trunk
  • some insights about the Joomla! framework (1.0 and 1.5) : how it works, how to implement it…
  • learnings and feedback from clients using web CMS
